Being forgotten
Is a form of freedom

In a corner unobserved
Growing wild

Reparenting myself

Seeking

Seeking

Trapped within layer upon layer of shackles,
we never seek rescue.
We merely reach for the sun,
and that brief connection is enough to make us feel justified in our confinement.

Aged Bathtub - The Struggle for Survival

Aged Bathtub - The Struggle for Survival

When I was little, I often stayed by this bathtub, daydreaming,
watching the fish swim.

If you ask what represents my childhood,
this old bathtub is one of those things.
But I never bathed in it.
Baths used to be taken in a big red bucket
inscribed with '百年好合'.

I often buried my face in the water,
only coming up when I couldn't hold my breath anymore,
because I wanted to know,
in this current state,
do I still have the will to live?

Or, was that not me? Was it my little brother's last reflection?
While Mom was giving him a bath,
on the day he prepared to end his life.

Lazy and Carefree

Lazy and Carefree

I am lazy, unconcerned with the world, and thoughtless.
I just drift, eat, and exist.

Serenely

Serenely

Every time autumn and winter set in, a sense of lethargy overcomes me.
I deeply love the sea.
Its vastness makes me feel small,
and its repetitive wave sounds bring a feeling of repose.

The jellyfish in the aquarium circle endlessly in their round tanks. To spin well and to drift well is all it takes to live, much like the torpor I feel during the colder months.
